Overview

Shape the Future of an Iconic Craft Brand

Great brands don't stand still. They evolve while remaining true to what made them successful in the first place.

BerryDunn has partnered with our client, Allagash Brewing, to find a strategic, creative, and commercially minded Marketing Director to lead the next chapter of one of the craft beer industry's most respected and recognizable brands. This is an opportunity for an accomplished marketing leader with a consumer packaged goods (CPG) background to influence the future of a beloved brand, drive meaningful business growth, and help connect consumers to exceptional products and experiences.

Reporting to the President, the Marketing Director will own the company's marketing strategy from consumer insights to execution, partnering closely with Sales, Brewing, Hospitality, and Executive Leadership to strengthen the brand, increase consumer engagement, and deliver commercial results.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of brand strategy, consumer insights, innovation, and commercial execution and enjoys building integrated marketing programs that create measurable impact.

Responsibilities

Lead Marketing Strategy

You'll develop and execute an integrated marketing strategy that supports revenue growth across wholesale, retail, hospitality, and direct-to-consumer channels. Working alongside the National Sales Director and other senior leaders, you'll ensure marketing initiatives directly support commercial priorities while strengthening long-term brand equity.

You'll be the voice of the consumer inside the organization—bringing market intelligence, consumer behavior, and industry trends into strategic conversations and helping shape where the brand goes next.

Build and Grow an Iconic Brand

You'll oversee every aspect of the brand experience, including:

  • Brand positioning and messaging
  • Integrated advertising campaigns
  • Product launches and innovation support
  • Packaging and visual identity
  • Digital marketing and content strategy
  • Social media and influencer partnerships
  • Public relations and earned media
  • Experiential and field marketing
  • Website, CRM, and first-party data strategy

Partner Across the Business

Marketing is a critical driver of commercial success. You'll work collaboratively with Sales, Brewing, Hospitality, and Events to create programs that drive demand, support distributors and retailers, increase visitor traffic, and create memorable brand experiences.

From bringing new beers to market to launching seasonal campaigns and supporting major initiatives, you'll ensure marketing remains aligned across every business channel.

Drive Innovation

Work alongside the Brewmaster and executive leadership to develop the innovation pipeline for new products and brand extensions. You'll help transform ideas into successful launches through compelling branding, packaging, storytelling, and go-to-market strategies.

Lead a High-Performing Team

You'll inspire and develop an experienced marketing team while managing outside agencies, creative partners, and vendors. You'll establish priorities, allocate resources effectively, and create an environment where creativity and accountability thrive.

Measure What Matters

You'll own the annual marketing budget and ensure investments generate measurable business results- most importantly, growing Allagash White, the flagship of the brewery. From advertising and sponsorships to digital campaigns and experiential activations, you'll establish KPIs, measure ROI, and continually optimize marketing performance to expand White points of distribution and rate of sale.

Qualifications

We're looking for a marketing leader who combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution and understands how to build brands that consumers love.

Qualified candidates will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related discipline with 10+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience within consumer packaged goods (CPG), beverage alcohol, food & beverage, or another consumer-focused brand
  • Proven success developing integrated marketing strategies that drive revenue growth
  • Strong background in brand management, consumer insights, product innovation, and commercial marketing
  • Experience partnering closely with sales organizations and supporting retail and distributor channels
  • Expertise across digital marketing, content strategy, social media, advertising, experiential marketing, and public relations
  • Experience managing marketing budgets and measuring campaign performance and ROI
  • Outstanding leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
